Jackson Reese makes music from a life spent looking beyond the familiar. Born in St. Thomas and based in Brooklyn, the artist, songwriter, producer and engineer brings a traveler’s eye and a New Yorker’s ambition to hip-hop, pairing detailed verses with melodic R&B vocals and his own production.

Influenced by hip-hop, jazz, soul and R&B, Reese’s lifestyle rap draws on the places he goes, the relationships he navigates and the life he imagines for himself. Travel, style and romance are recurring themes throughout his work, woven together with reflections on ambition, resilience and finding his own way. His storytelling moves easily from confidence and humor to more private reflections, capturing both the pleasure of being elsewhere and the thoughts that follow you there.

From the introspective turns of Soon I’ll Be Fine to the adventures and fleeting relationships of Days of Summer and Summer Games, Reese’s catalog reflects different chapters of the same life. Writing, producing and mixing his records himself, he gives each project a distinct atmosphere while keeping his voice at its center.
